Frontline by Clearline.

An AI receptionist on your line. It answers, works out what the caller needs, and puts them through, books them, or takes a message.

For businesses with people to transfer to. During hours it is the front desk: it routes callers to the right person, answers the questions you have told it the answers to, and — when the business runs Bookline — books, moves and cancels appointments against the real calendar. When nobody picks up the transfer, it takes a proper message instead of dropping the call.

The problem
The phone rings while you are with a customer. Either you drop them, or you drop the call.
01

Two customers, one of you

The one in front of you deserves your attention. The one on the phone is about to call the next place on the list.

02

The message on the sticky note

Half a name, a number with a digit missing, and no idea whether it was urgent. Frontline writes them all down the same way and sends them to the right person in seconds.

03

Booking over the phone, badly

Reading out times while flipping a book. Frontline sees the real openings, offers three, and books the one they pick.

What it does

Everything it does, in the order a call happens.

Frontline does one job on the phone. Nothing here needs a manual, and nothing is bolted on for a feature list.

01

Answers as your business

Your name, your hours, your address, your one-paragraph description. It opens by saying it is an automated assistant, so nobody feels fooled.

02

Routes to the right person

You list your departments in plain words — “billing: invoices, refunds, charges” — and who to transfer to. Warm transfer means the person picking up hears a one-line summary first.

03

Books, moves, cancels

Linked to Bookline, it looks up the caller by their number, offers real openings, and books with the same rules as your booking page. A double-booking is impossible, because the database refuses it.

04

Takes a message that is actually useful

Name, callback number read back, what it is about, which department, how urgent. Texted and emailed to whoever owns that department before the caller has put the phone down.

05

Answers what you have told it

Parking, pricing ranges, what to bring, your cancellation policy. If it is not on the list, it says it does not know and offers a message. It does not make things up.

06

Knows when you are closed

Outside your hours it switches to answering-service mode, or forwards to a person, or both — your choice per line.

Who it's for

One location, real customers, a phone that will not stop.

Frontline is priced and built for a single business. Add it to a Clearline app you already run, or start with it alone.

Built to hold up

The things we got right on purpose.

A machine on your phone line has to be honest, careful, and on the record. These are the rules it cannot break.

  • It says it is a machine. — The first sentence of every call: “This call may be recorded, and I’m an automated assistant.” It is a switch you can turn off. Leave it on.
  • It only knows what you gave it. — No web search, no guessing. The business facts, the departments, the FAQs and the calendar. Everything else gets “I don’t know, but I can take a message.”
  • A transfer that fails becomes a message. — If the person does not pick up, the caller is not left in silence. The assistant comes back and takes the message.
  • Every call is on the record. — Transcript, recording, a two-sentence summary and the outcome, in your inbox on the dashboard within seconds of hanging up.
What comes with it

Your number, your name, your dashboard.

Every Frontline is set up as your business, not as ours. Callers hear your name; the machine is the only thing that mentions Clearline.

Your number stays your number

We give you a line; you forward your existing number to it from your carrier in about a minute. Customers dial what they have always dialled. Turn forwarding off and it is back to how it was.

  • Forward only after hours if you like
  • Or forward only when busy
  • Nothing to install, nothing to port

A dashboard on your phone

Messages with a call-back button, every call with its transcript, and the settings — hours, departments, FAQs — that change what the assistant says on the very next ring.

  • Same sign-in as the rest of Clearline
  • Give staff a key, take it back any time
  • Mark messages done; nothing gets lost
A sample call

Read one before you talk to anyone.

A real transcript shape, with a sample business. Names and numbers are made up; the behaviour is exactly what your callers get.

A Frontline call for a salon on Bookline. Every time it offers came from the real calendar; the booking landed there.
